There are a few different kinds of computer games out there and before you start paying for them it is important for you to understand what these differences are and what they mean.

Some of the top kinds of computer games are:

PC games
Downloadable pc games
Online games

Category based on permission to use

Different kinds of games have different licenses. Many of the games out there can be downloaded online for free and many of the games that can be purchased in store have cheaper versions online that can be played sometimes even for free. There are also shareware games that have limitations in their many different features. Trial versions of the software are also available and these have time limits. You will only be bale to play them on your computer for free for a certain amount of days. They give you long enough to get hooked so that when your time runs out you will be willing to pay to get the whole shebang. These are great to get before you buy because it gives you a chance to see if you even will really like the game in question.

PC Games

These computer games need a disk. The game will be downloaded into your computer through this disk. In some cases you will always have to put the disk in to play and others will only require that you put it in the first time you play. You will buy these online and they will be mailed to you or you can go to your local computer or electronics store to get the software.

Downloadable PC Games

These games will be downloaded off of the computer and installed right into your hard drive. These do not even take long to download in most cases. You can search the internet for game downloads in just a few seconds through Yahoo or Google or any other search engine. A quick search will give you thousands of great computer games to choose from.

Online Games

Online games are those that are played online. You do not need to have the disk, all you need to do is log onto the internet and log into the game site. You can then play straight from their servers. Yahoo for example has some great computer games that are very popular these days but there are many, many sites out there and the games can vary in a big way. Many of the online computer games cost money to play and this too can vary. Some will require that you pay for membership on a monthly, yearly or a lifetime basis while some are free. It is essential that you learn the costs of the online gaming sites before you sign up, that way you will not get any unpleasant surprises on your bill.

All of these options are great for people who like to play computer games. They will all give you the hours of pleasure that you seek and if you search well, you will be able to find this pleasure for an affordable price.

You can quickly and easily spend thousands of dollars buying software for your computer.

Since there are so many great computer programs out there, it’s hard to resist the buying impulse.

However, before you start shelling out your hard earned money buying software for your computer, there are several things you should consider:

1. Why do I need this software?
2. Is there a free version that will work just as well?
3. What’s the difference among freeware, shareware, free trials, open source, etc.?

Freeware is simply software that you can get for free. Sometimes it has advertising in it, and sometimes it doesn’t. The downside of using freeware is that it might not be stable, or it contains advertising.

Shareware is where you get a full version of the software, and you get to try all of the features for a certain period of time. Then, if you want to keep it, you have to pay the fee.

Free trials allow you to try the software, but not all of the features are enabled, so you will have to upgrade to get everything to work.

Open Source is free software that has been developed by volunteer programmers and is freely available. You can even edit the source code if you like. The downside is that not all open source software is stable, and it can cause problems on your computer.

There are also other types of software, like donationware, or lite versions of the software. With lite versions, you get a working version of the software, but some of the features are disabled. Unlike a free trial, you can continue to use the lite version forever.

Below are five sites where you can get some great software for your computer.

Some of these sites are free. Others, you have to buy the software, but it’s definitely worth the investment.

Freeware Home – freewarehomedotcom – This is absolutely one of the best websites on the internet. It contains over 7,000 programs that are all free. The programs are all full versions of the software, and there are tons of categories. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, you’ll be hard pressed to find it anywhere else.

Doug Knox – dougknoxdotcom – This site is actually more of a site for scripts you can run on your computer. All of the scripts are designed to fix various computer problems you may be having. You’ll also find information on different operating systems as well, so this is a good all around computer resource to help you solve your computer problems.

Snap and Pop – snapnpopdragondotcom/ – This program isn’t free, but I felt it was important to mention it.

This site offers a free ecourse to show you how to tweak your computer so that you can get better performance out of it. The software is especially good for anyone who is new to computers because it can help you maximize your resources, as well as fix any computer problems, and you don’t need to be a computer geek to do it.

Webmaster Free – webmasterfreedotcom – If you are a webmaster, or you’re considering building a website, this site is absolutely invaluable.

You’ll find every possible tool you can imagine to help you build, upload, and promote your website. Although there are plenty of free trials and shareware located here, there’s enough free software on this site to keep you browsing for days. This site is part of the iEntry Network, where you can find tons of information on just about anything, especially if it’s related to business.

Jumbo – jumbodotcom – This is one of the oldest software sites on the internet and contains thousands of programs. You can find all kinds of freeware, shareware, free trials, and other computer software to download. This site also offers software for just about any operating system. Part of the internetdotcom network.

There are tons of places on the internet to find free software. However, it’s important that you use a reliable site to find it. Otherwise, you can end up with all kinds of spyware, adware, and malware on your computer, and it will cause you all kinds of problems.

Avoid all of that by surfing on reliable sites. These sites will keep you surfing for days, and you’ll find tons of great software for your computer.

Buying a new computer or even having an old one fixed can be the stuff nightmares are made of. Unless you’re a computer guru, it’s hard to tell if you’re making the right choice and buying the best you can for your money. Computer part store locations online and those with physical locations, too, can really help a person make informed decisions. These folks have seen it all and heard it all. They know what works and what doesn’t.

While some people prefer to throw the baby out with the bathwater if their computer breaks, the smart consumer first tries to fix the problem. Oftentimes it’s a small, relatively inexpensive part that’s causing the issue. That’s where parts stores come in handy. The big chains might be great for buying name-brand computers, but they sometimes lack in the parts department.

The larger stores, too, often lack in the advice department as well. Rather than sell you the power supply you really need to fix your computer, it’s hard to tell if they’re just pushing you in the direction of a new machine just to make a sale. Plus, floor staff isn’t always as educated about computers as customers might like.

The advantages to dealing with reputable parts stores are many. They include:

* Generally all staff is well educated about computers. They understand makes, models and hardware. They can, and generally will, offer advice about parts that will work with a machine. It’s up to the consumer to know what they have, however, unless of course the computer’s carried in or delivered to the store.

* Service tends to be more hands-on. Stores that deal strictly in computers, don’t have customers running around trying to buy other big-ticket items. Inasmuch, you can generally expect more personalized service.

* Sometimes faster service and cheaper prices. Although they don’t generally have the “bulk purchasing” power of some of the big-name stores, smaller parts stores know how to get their hands on parts quickly and efficiently. The prices are generally quite good as well. Plus, these folks can find out-of-date parts to fix a machine that might serve your purposes well, but is considered a dinosaur in the field.

Those who choose to shop parts stores a lot of times also build their own computers or have them built for them by the shop. There are some advantages here if the customer knows how to build a machine or the store is quite proficient at it.

Computers custom built from parts generally are more suited for the individual user. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model offered by big name stores, these machines can be custom right down to the amount of RAM and the video cards. If a machine is needed for a particular use, it can be geared in that direction. Also, big computer makers tend to make their machines proprietary, which means certain parts won’t work in them or warranties will be voided if specific upgrades are made or work is performed by the owner. This generally isn’t the case in a custom made machine.

Computers are the wave of now. Almost everyone needs one for work, school or even recreation. Going big name is fine, but sometimes all that’s needed is a simple part. Computer part store locations are great outlets for finding what’s needed. Plus, employees are pretty good about sharing advice.

Spyware remover is a program intended to shield the computer and remove malicious programs that intrudes your computer. Spywares are programs that part with the most vital and private information to the desired advantage of the software companies who planted the same in the system through most of the software is downloaded by you free.

There are various types of spyware with different ends some of them highly malicious. Right from the common adware a harm less nuisance softwares that causes multitude of pop ups on your screen to the malicious data mining and dialer spywares. There are spywares that hijack the user’s home page, browser favorites, favorite search engine or system settings.

Spyware removers are therefore a must for every computer and worth its investment. There are basically two types of spyware removers one that gives the real-time protection and the other scan for installed spywares and removes the same. Most of the spyware removers today combine both the features. The best programs protects the system from being installed any intrusive programmers and also keeps the system intact without the trace of any such programmes. On the other hand a simple spyware remover only scans and removes the installed spywares periodically. This is much simpler compared to the real time protective spyware removers. They block any malicious programs at the gate itself from being installed into your system and keeps the computer insulated.

One of the first Spyware blocker programs that gave real time protection developed by java cool is spywareblaster . This program basically intends to act as a fire wall to the spyware and the scanning and removing feature was not envisaged. Some of the latest programs that combines both the features and highly effective are windows antispyware and Ad – ware from lava soft. Day after day innovative brains are creating more malicious Spyware and Ad ware and to keep your computer and data safe one must choose a professional high quality program and keep the same updated.

Being left-handed used to be a huge problem as most implements, including computer keyboards were designed to be used in a right-handed manner. There are still a number of issues affecting left-handed people but now there are a number of different keyboard and mouse solutions available.

Right-handed people often fail to realize that keyboards created for them are extremely uncomfortable and awkward for a left-handed person. There are left-handed keyboards available widely now and these have the orientation of the keys designed for a left-hander. The main difference between the two types of keyboard is that the numeric keyboard and directional arrow keys are situated on the left of the keyboard instead of the more common right. This apparently simple reorganization of the keyboard offers a left-handed person a much more natural layout.

Tracker ball mice are equally easy to use for right or left-handed people. It is a simple configuration change that allows the functions of the buttons on either side of the mouse. However, some tracker balls have been built in to keyboards and, yes, you guessed it, these are positioned on the right of the keyboard and can become almost impossible for a left-handed person to use. Now these keyboards are available with the integral tracker ball positioned on the left hand side.

Any keyboard or mouse that is promoted as being ‘ergonomic’ will usually fill a left-hander with dismay. The design is nearly always in favour of a right-hander. All us left-handers used to be stuck with very basic ambidextrous mice and had to struggle with a right-handed keyboard. A growing number of keyboard and related accessories manufacturers are realizing that there is a huge market for ergonomically designed products that have left-handers in mind. It isn’t just enough for a mouse to be able to have its buttons configured for left or right-hand use, the shape has to be appropriate too.

The real issue for left-handed people is cost. Keyboards and accessories are mass produced in greater numbers for right-handers than they are for left. This often means that the cost of left-handed keyboards and the like are higher. It is worth noting that a company must provide a left-handed person with the adequate tools to do their job, just as they do with right-handers.
